“Progress is when we forgive ourselves for taking so long to treat our bodies like a home”
– Yung Pueblo

HI, my name is Hannah, and I love yoga.
I love every inch of discomfort, anger, laughter, bliss, internal screaming, courage, love, self trust, inner knowing, and intimacy it brings along with it. Yoga has not always been a love affair for me, and i continue to struggle daily with not only body acceptance, but the acceptance of who I am on or off the mat. This is yoga. This is the daily practice. The coming home to ourselves to only discover the emotions we are holding with us from yesterday, or years ago in our past. Yoga became a magic for my mind, body and soul. After I had Scoliosis spinal fusion surgery at age 15, i did not think i could ever possibly  feel good in my body again. I felt stuck (literally i kind of was, with metal rods along my spine!). I felt uncomfortable and foreign in this new body. My body was weak and aching for acknowledgement. Yoga came to me here. It wasn’t crazy flexible splits, handstands or floating meditations of any kind. It was simply this brand new art of slowing down my busy mind to listen to my body and where it was at each day i met with it. Since day one of practicing yoga, i have had 95% of my back pain disappear. I speak of this physical practice of yoga here, so that you too know that anything is possible. ANYTHING. You only have to try, and believe in it, in yourself. Although it may feel amazing to finally land a tricky balancing posture… The physical aspect of yoga is truly only the tip of the iceberg.

How often do you sit with yourself in silence?
No distractions. No cell phone. No computer.
Eyes closed, ears and mind listening.
What is here? What arises when you settle the self upon the self?

I believe in making your yoga practice all about you. This is your time of reconnection to your truest, most raw self – and right now we could aalll use this art of tuning in (to ourselves) by tuning out (social media, ads, other’s opinions and politics), more than ever. There is no right or wrong way to show up for yourself, you are doing the work just by sitting down with yourself ❤
This is your time.

My dream with this online platform, with my teachings and with my life, is to create a space for likeminded people to come together, to create community. Although this may be tricky to do online, i am determined to put this into action. I want to encourage you into your depth, your heart, your body. This space (my inbox, the comment section and everyone affiliated with this site), is your space to safely release and vent, to ask for help, to speak, to be heard, to be felt, to open. Too long i spent my life thinking i was completely alone, sometimes i return to this head space and find myself slowly dragging myself back out, but i truly believe that a community that chooses to open together, heals together, grows together.
